The Dirty Dozen!

When I started eating clean, I was overwhelmed with the cost of my groceries. Since we were no longer saving money by purchasing foods with filler ingredients, buying the same amount cost more. For me, it was totally worth it! And since we don't eat out but once in a blue moon, our overall food expense is the same. We are so much healthier for it! So here is a way I save money on my groceries if my budget doesn't allow all organic produce:


The Dirty Dozen ~ These are produce with the highest pesticide residue. So if you can't buy all organic, make sure you buy these organic:

1.Peaches
2. Apples
3. Bell Peppers
4. Celery
5. Nectarines
6. Strawberries
7. Cherries
8. Kale
9. Lettuce
10. Grapes
11. Carrots
12. Pears

The Clean 15~ On the flip side, here is a list with the lowest pesticide residue. 

1. Onions
2. Avocado
3. Corn 
4. Pineapple
5. Mangoes
6. Asparagus
7. Sweet Peas
8. Kiwi
9. Cabbage
10. Eggplant
11. Papaya
12. Watermelon
13. Broccoli
14. Tomatoes
15. Sweet Potatoes


Remember, buying organic is good for the earth, for the farm workers, and for you!
